A Bunch of Crazy Stuff That Happens
The lake of Cloud Lake is bound by sandy shores, except on its northwest where there are high cliffs. The lake is usually covered and surrounded by thick and slightly magical fog. The fog is thick enough to slow a fall, so that jumping from the cliff (or falling through the associated fey crossing) is often harmless. The water has some peculiar properties as well, enabling people to swim easily even in heavy armor.
The village near the lake is also called Cloud Lake. This is an all-Eladrin town, though prior to the destruction of Glendale’s Glade those elfs would winter with the Eladrin and help defend against Myconids. Myconids are a constant nuisance, but moreso in the winter.
The town fishes and farms to subsist, but most work is focused on the fog. Virgins can condense it in their lungs, then draw it through their teeth as thread. This thread can then be made into elegant and lightweight textiles. Eladrin lifespans and passions make virgins a small portion of the population, so the fabric is scarce even though the fog is abundant. The fog can also be condensed into residuum, though doing so is not a large-scale operation.
